About We The Redeemed

We’ve been redeemed

A local, non-denominational church in San Diego.
We are a family bonded together by the blood of Jesus Christ from all nations, languages, and people groups.

Mission & Vision

Why we exist

Our Mission

To reach the lost and make disciples of Jesus Christ.

Our Vision

To restore the New Testament Church through House Church.

We believe church is more than a Sunday gathering. It’s a community where people grow in faith, build deep relationships, and live out the gospel together, meeting in homes and sharing meals with glad and sincere hearts, just as the early Christians did.

Core Values

What shapes us

We strive to be transformed people who genuinely know and love God and are a part of a community that strives to obey His will wholeheartedly.

01

Genuine Encounter

John 3:16

It is through the death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus that we are able to genuinely encounter the love of God. Through the truth of the gospel, God our Father brings us into a loving relationship with Him in Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit.

02

Radical Transformation

2 Corinthians 5:17

Actions speak louder than words. It is the Christian’s right, privilege, and destiny to be conformed to the image of Jesus Christ in motives, thoughts, actions, affections, and life direction. The Holy Spirit empowers us to be more like Jesus.

03

Covenant Community

John 13:34–35 · Ephesians 4:32

Blood is thicker than water. God knits a family through the cross of Jesus Christ, known as the Church. We are not a program, a business, or a club, but a family. We love, protect, and serve one another.

04

Unceasing Mission

Matthew 28:19–20

We have a mission. God calls believers to be people of influence in every area of society in order to make disciples of all nations. The Holy Spirit guides believers and empowers them with spiritual gifts to accomplish God’s mission.

How we grow

Heart. Mind. Will.

True spiritual transformation happens when a person’s heart, mind, and will are nurtured together. Our church life is built on three axes.

Heart

House Church

A place to experience and share God’s love in an intimate, relational setting.

Mind

Bible Studies

Equipping believers with a deeper understanding of the Word of God.

Will

Sunday Corporate Worship

Inspiring and challenging one another to live Christ-centered lives.

Our Story

How we got here

We The Redeemed began as the English-speaking adult congregation of a Korean-American immigrant church in San Diego. In June 2026, God led us to plant We The Redeemed as an independent church and move to University City, where we gather today.

Through every season, God has shaped us into a church family built around House Church: reaching the lost, making disciples, and seeking to restore the New Testament Church.

What we believe

Our statement of faith

In essential beliefs, we have unity. In nonessential beliefs, we allow liberty.

Want to go deeper? Our Class 101: Discovering Church Membership walks through our beliefs, vision, and story.

God

God is the creator and ruler of the universe. He is holy, perfect, and eternal. He is one God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, each equally deserving worship and obedience.

Jesus Christ

Jesus is the second person of the Trinity, coequal and coeternal with the Father. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. Through His death, resurrection, and ascension, we are able to encounter the love of God.

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, a divine, eternal person who guides believers and empowers them with spiritual gifts to accomplish God’s mission.

Humanity

Every man and woman is created in the image of God and therefore possesses intrinsic dignity and worth, created to enjoy relationship with God and with one another and to steward and care for creation.

Salvation

Salvation is by the grace of God, on the basis of the redemptive work of Jesus Christ, through faith in Christ alone, not on the basis of human works.

The Church

The church is one holy and universal body of Christ, sent into the world to shine forth the glory of God. Its one supreme authority is Christ and His Word.

Revelation & Scripture

God has made Himself known in Jesus Christ, in the Scriptures, and in creation. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is the perfect revelation of who God is.

Last Things

Jesus Christ will return physically, visibly, personally, and gloriously to judge the living and the dead.
